Last updated: May 2026. Free-spins mode tested across 50+ triggered rounds at all four featured AU casinos in April-May 2026.
The third of Le Bandit's free-spins modes is the one most beginners overlook and most experienced spinners learn to love. Treasure at the End of the Rainbow flips the script of All That Glitters Is Gold: instead of stacking Golden Squares high and waiting for rare Rainbow Triggers, this mode fires Rainbows frequently but reveals smaller stacks each time. The result is a feast-or-famine experience where the Rainbows decide everything — pick a great series of Rainbows on loaded grids and the mode pays excellently; pick a series of Rainbows on barely-loaded grids and the round busts.

What Treasure at the End of the Rainbow is
Treasure at the End of the Rainbow is the Rainbow-Trigger-heavy free-spins mode in Le Bandit. The picker door visual is an arched rainbow over a treasure chest at its base. Pick this door and the round delivers a set number of free spins (typically 10, with retriggers possible) using cluster pays.
The math underneath:
- Golden Squares lock at a lower rate than in Luck of the Bandit or All That Glitters Is Gold.
- Rainbow Triggers fire significantly more often — sometimes multiple per spin.
- Coin Collect counter is the headline mechanic. Clovers revealed during Rainbows count toward a counter that grants multipliers at thresholds.
- Reveal pool is weighted toward coins and Clovers, with Pots of Gold appearing less often.
The combined effect: lots of small Rainbow detonations, with the occasional Coin Collect threshold pushing multipliers onto subsequent reveals. The mode's character is "feast or famine, decided spin by spin."
How it differs from the other two modes
| Mode | Golden Square density | Rainbow Trigger frequency | Reveal mix weighting |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luck of the Bandit | Medium | Medium | Balanced (coins, Clovers, Pots) |
| All That Glitters Is Gold | High | Lower | Pots of Gold heavy |
| Treasure at the End of the Rainbow | Lower | Higher | Coins & Clovers heavy |
This mode is the "opposite" of All That Glitters Is Gold along every dimension. Where All That Glitters builds anticipation through Golden Square accumulation, Treasure delivers a constant stream of Rainbows.
Practical session experience
A typical 10-spin Treasure at the End of the Rainbow round (on a A$1 bet):
- Spin 1: Cluster, cascade, 1 Golden Square locks, Rainbow fires immediately. Reveals a small coin (3× stake). Pays 7× total = A$7.
- Spin 2: Cluster, no Rainbow. Pays 4×.
- Spin 3: Cluster + cascade, 2 Golden Squares lock, Rainbow fires. Reveals two Clovers. Pays 8× + adds 2 to the Clover counter (now at 2). Total 8× = A$8.
- Spin 4: Cluster cascade, 2 Golden Squares lock + Rainbow. Coin + Clover revealed. Pays 11×. Clover counter at 3.
- Spin 5: Bust. No cluster.
- Spin 6: Cluster + cascade. 1 Square. Rainbow. Reveals one Clover. Clover counter at 4. Pays 5×.
- Spin 7: Cluster cascade. 2 Squares. Rainbow. Reveals 1 coin + 1 Clover. Clover counter hits 5 — threshold crossed, multiplier activates. Pays 15× and now any subsequent reveal pays at 2× multiplier.
- Spin 8: Cluster + cascade, 3 Squares lock, Rainbow. Reveals 2 coins + 1 Clover, all at 2× multiplier. Pays 28×.
- Spin 9: Cluster + small cascade, Rainbow fires on 1 Square. Coin revealed. Pays 8× (with 2× multiplier).
- Spin 10: Cluster + cascade, 2 Squares, Rainbow. Reveals coin + Pot of Gold (rare in this mode) at 2× multiplier. Pays 38×.
Total: ~132× stake = A$132.
That's a "normal" Treasure round. The Clover counter crossing a multiplier threshold mid-round is what made the back half of this round meaningful.
When to pick Treasure at the End of the Rainbow
Choose this mode when:
- You want a "busy" bonus round. Rainbows fire constantly. The screen is always active.
- You're up on the session and willing to gamble for a swing result. The Clover counter multiplier can push payouts well above what you'd expect for a constant-Rainbow mode.
- You're learning the game. Frequent Rainbow Triggers help you internalize the mechanic faster than the slower-paced modes.
- You enjoy Coin Collect mechanics from other slots. This is Le Bandit's most Coin-Collect-style mode.
Pick a different mode when:
- You want the max-win path. All That Glitters Is Gold is the answer.
- You want session consistency. Luck of the Bandit is more reliable.
- You don't have patience for Clover-counter management. This mode's character depends on hitting Clover thresholds.
Mathematical expectations
Approximate outcome distribution for a 10-spin Treasure at the End of the Rainbow round at certified 96.34% RTP:
| Round outcome | Approximate frequency |
|---|---|
| Under 10× stake (bust) | ~18-22% |
| 10-50× stake | ~28-32% |
| 50-150× stake | ~22-25% |
| 150-400× stake | ~12-15% |
| 400-1,000× stake | ~5-7% |
| 1,000-5,000× stake | ~2-3% |
| 5,000-10,000× stake | very rare (<0.1%) |
The median Treasure round produces around 55-70× stake. The shape sits between Luck of the Bandit and All That Glitters Is Gold — less consistent than Luck, less peaky than All That Glitters. The defining feature is the swing potential via Clover counter multipliers.
Mode-specific features
- Clover counter is the headline mechanic. Clovers revealed during Rainbow Triggers add to a counter at the top of the grid. Thresholds (3, 5, 7, 10+ Clovers) unlock progressively higher multipliers that apply to subsequent reveals for the rest of the round.
- Rainbow weighting is elevated. The Rainbow symbol appears roughly 2× as often per cascade as in the base game.
- Lower per-Golden-Square reveal value. Individual reveals are smaller on average, but more of them happen.
- Retriggers occur at a similar rate to Luck of the Bandit.
Coin Collect threshold ladder
The mode's signature feature. As the Clover counter accumulates during the round:
| Clovers collected | Multiplier on subsequent reveals |
|---|---|
| 0-2 | 1× (base) |
| 3-4 | 1.5× |
| 5-7 | 2× |
| 8-12 | 3× |
| 13+ | 5× |
Rounds where the Clover counter reaches 8+ in the first half become genuinely lucrative. Rounds where it stays under 3 throughout produce smaller wins.
Bonus Buy access
Where Bonus Buy is enabled, Treasure at the End of the Rainbow can be purchased directly for approximately 150× stake. That's mid-range between Luck of the Bandit (~75×) and All That Glitters Is Gold (~200×). The expected return is ~96.34% of the buy cost. The variance is interesting — less brutal than All That Glitters but with the Clover multiplier introducing a unique upside.
What it looks like visually
The Treasure at the End of the Rainbow round is themed around a leprechaun's pot at the end of an arched rainbow. The reels sit against a sky background with the rainbow visible in the upper third. Smokey is shown clinging to the top of the chest. Every Rainbow Trigger draws a fresh rainbow sweep across the grid. The Clover counter sits prominently at the top — a leprechaun's hat counter you'll find your eye returning to repeatedly.
Sound: wind through trees, a soft Celtic-style melody, the chime of the Clover counter incrementing. The most "Irish-luck-themed" of the three modes.
Practical tips
- Watch the Clover counter. Mode results hinge on its accumulation rate. If you cross the first multiplier threshold (3 Clovers) by spin 3, the round is heading somewhere good.
- Don't expect Pots of Gold. They appear, but they're rarer than in All That Glitters Is Gold.
- Manage retriggers. A retrigger extends the round and gives the Clover counter more time to build — quality retriggers are particularly valuable in this mode.
- This mode rewards patience. The first few Rainbows often pay modestly; the Clover threshold multipliers are what amplify the back half.

Quick FAQ
How many free spins does the round start with? 10, with retriggers possible.
Does the Clover counter persist across multiple bonus rounds? No — it resets at the start of each round.
Is this mode more or less volatile than All That Glitters Is Gold? Less peaky at the very top, but more variance across the 50-1,000× range due to Clover threshold timing.
Can the Clover multiplier reach 5× early? Yes — if the first few Rainbows reveal Clovers heavily, the multiplier can activate by spin 4-5.
Are Pots of Gold weighted out of this mode? Not entirely — they appear, just less frequently than in All That Glitters Is Gold.
Can I switch modes mid-round? No — once picked, the round runs to completion.
Is this the best mode for streamers? Mixed — the constant Rainbow visuals are TV-friendly, but the All That Glitters peaks are bigger.
